Bespoke Biotics flat pack 20 billion probiotic containingWhat are the benefits of the following bacteria: Bifidobacterium animalis, Bifidobacterium Bifidum, Bifidobacterium Longum, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, Streptococcus Thermophilus

We use the following bacterial strains a high concentration

Bifidobacterium animalis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Streptococcus thermophilus are all types of bacteria that are found in the human gut microbiome. The gut microbiome refers to the community of microorganisms that live in the digestive tract and play a role in maintaining overall health.

Some potential benefits of these bacteria include:

  • Bifidobacterium animalis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum: These bacteria are commonly found in the human gut and are thought to have a number of potential health benefits. They may help to support the immune system, reduce the risk of certain infections, and improve digestive function. Some research has also suggested that these bacteria may have anti-inflammatory effects and may be beneficial for certain digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus: These bacteria are also commonly found in the human gut and are thought to have a number of potential health benefits. They may help to support the immune system, reduce the risk of certain infections, and improve digestive function. Some research has also suggested that these bacteria may be beneficial for certain digestive disorders such as IBS and may help to reduce the severity of diarrhea.

  • Streptococcus thermophilus: This bacteria is commonly found in fermented dairy products such as yogurt and is thought to have a number of potential health benefits. It may help to support the immune system, reduce the risk of certain infections, and improve digestive function. Some research has also suggested that Streptococcus thermophilus may be beneficial for certain digestive disorders such as lactose intolerance.

  • (Note streptococcus may sound scary given that some varieties are detrimental to human health - however, not all types of streptococcus bacteria are harmful. Some types of streptococcus bacteria are found in the human gut microbiome and are thought to have potential health benefits.

We also include FOS Fiber

Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are a type of dietary fiber that is made up of short chains of fructose molecules. FOS is a prebiotic, which means that it serves as food for the beneficial bacteria in the gut microbiome. By providing nourishment for these bacteria, FOS may help to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria and support the overall health of the gut microbiome.

Some research has suggested that taking a combination of probiotics (live microorganisms that are similar to the beneficial microorganisms found in the human gut) and prebiotics may have additional benefits compared to taking probiotics alone. For example, a study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2008 found that supplementing with a combination of probiotics and FOS improved digestive function and reduced the risk of certain infections in humans.

It is important to note that the research on the potential health benefits of these bacteria and FOS is ongoing.

Brain health and probiotics:

In recent years, there has been increasing interest in the potential role of the gut microbiome in the development and function of the brain and the nervous system. This area of research is known as "psychobiotics." Some studies have suggested that altering the gut microbiome with the use of probiotics may have effects on mental health and behavior.

For example, a review published in the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity in 2017 found that some studies have suggested that probiotics may have antidepressant and anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) effects in humans. Other research has suggested that probiotics may be helpful for reducing stress and improving sleep quality.
